Attempts

2. Attempts
 
This setting controls how many attempts will be made to reconnect to eMHS before aborting.
 
If an error occurs (loss of internet connection) during a submission, GeMMA will attempt to recover and continue to submit. Recovering is controlled by Attempts (number of recovery attempts) and Retry Interval (time in seconds to wait before next Attempt).

Retry Interval

3. Retry Interval
 
This setting controls how long to wait between Attempts in seconds.

Status Check

4. Status Check
 
This setting controls the interval in which to check the connection to eMHS.
 
Status Check is used to confirm a connection to eMHS is available before allowing a submission to start. The eMHS connection status is displayed in the Status Bar.

Handover Date

5. Handover Date
 
This setting controls the default Handover Date, there are three options:-
 
  • Today - The Handover Date for Mailing Cells moved to the Prepare tab will be set to today's date.
  • Today +1 -  The Handover Date for Mailing Cells moved to the Prepare tab will be set to today's date plus one day.
  • Today +2 -  The Handover Date for Mailing Cells moved to the Prepare tab will be set to today's date plus two days.
 
The Handover Date logic for all Wholesale (Network Access) mailings has been changed in accordance with Royal Mail's documentation (eMHS Implementation Guidelines - 3.5 Timings). Manifests must be confirmed the day before mail is handed over to the Royal Mail, therefore, we have blocked a handover date of today for Network Access mailings.

Adjust Whistl Collection Date

6. Adjust Whistl Collection Date
This setting controls the Collection Date value output to the TNT upload file for Whistl and Citipost. There are two options:-
 
1. No (default) - Do not adjust the Collection Date output to the TNT upload file and use the Collection Date supplied at sort runtime.
2. Yes - Adjust the Collection Date output to the TNT upload file using the Handover Date selected in GeMMA.

XSD Check

7. XSD Check
 
This setting controls the level of XSD validation for each Mailing Cell Imported into GeMMA. There are two options:-
 
  • Complete - Checks the header and all items in a manifest agaist the GeMMA Schema.
  • Partial - Checks the header and the first 1,000 items in a manifest against the GeMMA Schema.

Item Selection Method

8. Item Selection Method
This setting controls the default Item Selection Method, there are two options:-
 
  • Sequence Numbers
  • Bag Numbers
 
 
Item Selections has been expanded to allow selections to be made by Bag Number rather than Sequence of Items. This feature is only available with GeMMA Manifests created by the PostalSort engine version 3.5.0 due for release in February 2016.

Delete logfiles

9. Delete logfiles
This setting controls the Delete logfiles behavior, there are two options:-
 
  • Never (default option) - Never delete log files.
  • After 100 days - Delete log files older than 100 days.
 
 
Log files are deleted at startup/launch time of GeMMA.

Archive

10. Archive
This setting controls the Archive behavior for submitted manifests, there are four options:-
 
  • Never (default option) - Never archive submitted manifests.
  • After 3 Months - Submitted manifests older then 3 months will be moved to the Archive tab.
  • After 6 Months - Submitted manifests older then 6 months will be moved to the Archive tab.
  • After 12 Months - Submitted manifests older then 12 months will be moved to the Archive tab.
 
The archiving of submitted manifests can greatly improve the performance and responsiveness of the Submitted tab.
 
 
Submitted manifests are moved to the Archive tab at startup/launch time of GeMMA.

Update Method

11. Update Method
This setting controls the default Application Update Method, there are two options:-
 
1. Automatic - Checks for updates on startup. If an update is found it is downloaded and is applied on next restart.
2. Manual - Automatic check for updates is disabled. Updates can be checked and applied manually via Help > Check for updates.

Local Updates

12. Local Updates
This setting overrides online application updates allowing the user to browse to a local folder containing the update files.

Beta Updates

13. Beta Updates
 
This setting enables Beta online application updates.
 
Only use this setting if instructed to do so.

Multi-User

14. Multi-User
 
Multi-User settings should not be amended without prior advice from support.
